South Magnecore (Dranzer V Version)

Note: When used in an SG, any Magnecore is listed as "Magne Version" with no specification of the polarity or variety. These are listed in PlasticsDB part section names for clarity.
Note: In addition to this, the name of this part is unconfirmed, and presumed based on convention. Takara merely refer to it as a South Magnecore.

Weight: 3.23g

  • Modified South Magnecore with the magnet placed higher and shorter gear structure at bottom. There is little weight difference as the magnet is still the same size, though the reduction in plastic does make Dranzer V Magnecores just slightly lighter.

  • This allows compatible combinations where height is dictated by tips (Customize Grip Base Tip/Magne Flat Base Tip/SG Grip Base Tip.Volcano Change Base Tip) to be shorter.

  • Main uses are with Volcano Change Base and with Customize Grip Base Tip in Magne Flat Base or SG Grip Base, making an overall lower combination, though the superior recoil control and speed of Defense Grip Base (tip inverted) is almost always better, and cheaper. Other Bases can be used (see compatibility doc) but are generally inferior and often suffer from scraping issues due to poor tip clearance.

  • Aside from this, performance in other setups is generally identical to a regular South Magnecore, and that page can be seen for more detailed notes.

  • An interesting and unique part, but not a must have.

Mold Difference:

  • The SonoKong version of South Magnecore (Dranzer V Version) has a thicker shaft surround due to a design error, which holds Volcano Change Base Tip at a medium height and reduces free spin of the plate. This leads to very slightly better performance in LAD due to more stable precession and a better angle for Wide Survivor to contact the stadium. The change does not affect SG Grip Base Tip, which fits the same with the SonoKong version as the Takara/Hasbro version.
