Attack Ring: Roller Defense Ring
Note: Placing wheels on incorrectly (on the top of the Attack Ring) is NOT legal.
Gimmick is roller parts, these form the main contact points
AR as a whole has tall, round edges
Extremely small and compact, being one of the smallest ARs in diameter but also relatively heavy.
Rollers help absorb energy from impact and disperse it in their rotation. This gives a small defensive boost but the shape of these contact points and the AR as a whole are the main source of its decent defensive ability.
Has breakage issues at the thin connection to the cylindrical part above the roller, and the roller wheels can break on particularly hard hits, though usually the connection will fail first.
A good choice for anything where low recoil is desired - all Right-Spin Defense and Stamina combinations as well as more defensive Compacts can use it successfully.
Its properties in particular lend themselves to Circle Survivor Defense combinations alongside Ten Heavy, which it is just wide enough to cover without being easy for opponents to hit. This makes for an extremely powerful defensive setup protected by Circle Survivor itself, while still having respectable stamina.
Usefulness on Compacts is limited by the fact it is entirely passive, with no contact points capable of doing more than nudging opponents, reducing their versatility.
Weight Disk: Heavy
The most compact weight distribution of any weight disk.
It is worth noting that there is quite a broad range of weights for this Weight Disk, which one should be wary of.
The large corners of its shape result in some recoil when hit, though its compact weight distribution provides some protection against this.
Ten Heavy outclasses it slightly in all aspects of performance due to heavier weight, lower recoil, and Eight Heavy is marginally heavier, with a slightly less compact distribution making it a viable alternative.
Fairly competitive in Compacts and Traditional Upper Attack and a backup choice for Weight-Based Defense and Semi Flat Base Stamina Combos.
Blade Base: Semi-Flat Base
4 Layer System Base with built in Right Spin Gear.
Usable Life After Death
A very stable tip with good stability and survival, making it a good Stamina part.
Commonly used in Survival combos with Ten Balance (as Wide Defense and Wide Survivor have issues with rotational recoil and stability on this base), these are best called Semi Flat Base Stamina Combinations, especially as Heavy-Series Weight Disks are also an option, the most famous of which is 10bBistool.
Outclassed by Zombie Base/SG setups, but still a reasonable option in most tournament situations as Semi Flat Base Stamina Combinations are able to beat most Tourney Filler. However, they lose to almost all competitive combinations and as such do not deserve the accolades they have received over the years.
There is an alternative mold used by certain Takara releases (notably Roller Defenser) which has a thinner tip, making it slightly less aggressive and providing slightly more survival. The difference is largely negligible in battle, however.
Roller Defenser is an extremely solid purchase for the AR, which is arguably the best choice for the powerful Circle Survivor Defense type, however fragility means one should keep a couple on hand. The inclusion of a usable Weight Disk and Blade Base is a nice touch as well.
