Attack Ring: G Upper

Weight: 5.5g

Left Spin:

  • Focussed and well-angled Contact points in this direction create effective Smash Attack, making for a competitive Smash Attack AR.

  • In addition, the slopes allow it to be an effective Traditional Upper Attack AR, aided by its Smash Attack in a way similar to Triple Wing in right spin.

  • Due to the slight increase in recoil over Panther Head and Eight Spiker, the destabilisation of the slopes doesn't have a great benefit to overall survivability vs these parts.

  • Overall a very good competitive part, and a great benchmark for Left Spin offense, similar to what Triple Wing is for Right Spin.

Right Spin:

  • Significant recoil in this direction with limited offensive ability.

  • Not useful in this direction.

Weight Disk: Ten Wide

Weight: 14.0g (Takara/Hasbro) | 14.3g (SonoKong G-Blade)

  • Moderately light weight

  • Outward weight distribution, though less so than Wide Defense and Wide Survivor.

  • Recoil means it is far less effective for spin stealing and survival than those weight disks

  • Still has plenty of use for Smash Attack, particularly with Attack Rings which are obstructed by Wide Defense.

  • Can still be used for spin stealing to decent effect with parts that compensate through LAD (Spiral Change Base/Full Auto Clutch Base etc) or by providing a buffer (Dragon Saucer SAR), but is still outclassed.

  • A number of SonoKong Ten Wide WD's from their G-Blade series have been recorded as being slightly above the average weight of Wide Defense, see the Ten Wide page for details.

Weight: 7.0g

    • CEW-compatible Left Spin Engine Gear with Turbo gimmick - Engine Gear has much more power but doesn't last as long.

    • The only reasonable capable implementation of Engine Gears for Attack

    • Activation with a suitable CEW (i.e. Metal Grip) sends the Beyblade hurtling out of control at incredible speeds for a very short period of time.

    • Unfortunately, the height of Engine Gear setups, combined with the lack of an effective overhanging Left Spin AR means combos using it struggle to actually connect effectively with opponents. Were it not for this issue, there is some chance it might be competitively viable or at least Tier 2. As it is, it is not a useful part, largely relying on something like First Clutch Base (Dragoon G Version) to hit opponents.

    • Not useful with Final Clutch Bases, as it has too short an activation window for their late game burst to be effective, and also being Left Spin means it has no overhanging ARs, coupled with a lack of a Final Clutch Blade Base that is able to effectively hit opponents.

    • Only really effective with Metal Grip CEW as metal tips do not have enough traction to do much with the sudden spin providing very little noticeable change on activation.

Weight: 7.4g

    • First Clutch activates at start of battle. Slightly less self-destructive than Final Clutch because the Beyblade resists the destabilization caused by the Engine Gear's activation, instead it breaks flower pattern and sometimes self KO's.

    • With Left Engine Gear (Turbo) this could be somewhat okay with activation causing it to fly around violently, but the Base's design causes a lot of issues.

    • The four wings create absolutely massive recoil in Left Spin and quite a lot in Right Spin, rendering the Base a liability to anything it is used on. First Clutch Base (Dragoon G Version) does a much better job.

    • Not a useful part.

Customize Engine Weight: Metal Grip

Weight: 2.7g

    • Plastic insides, small layer of metal and a somewhat hard rubber tip which is kind of a wide-ish semi-flat, with a tip width similar Storm Grip Base but with rubber consistency similar to Customize Grip Base Tip.

    • Weight, grip, and small tip surface area mean it moves somewhat slowly for a rubber tip. The bulk of most Engine Gear System Blade Bases only worsens this, meaning it is only really useful with Left Engine Gear (Turbo).

    • Can tornado stall at a reasonable pace, but this isn't that useful and a lot of attack tips are faster here too.

    • Tall height of Engine Gear set-ups renders it even less useful.

    • Nonetheless the best option for a Left Engine Gear (Turbo) attacker, both for grip and because it is the only tip with enough traction for the EG activation to do much of anything. Left Engine Gear (Turbo) also gives the tip much needed aggression.

    • Bevels allow for precession which can work with Right Customize Gear (Free Shaft Version) reasonably well, though it generally will rely on either Wide Defense or Wide Survivor (both via Normal Base (Rock Bison Version) or Normal Base (Wolborg 4 Version)) for solid LAD, or settle for the additional weight but worse LAD of First Clutch Base (Zeus Version). The setup is also right spin only, and overall heavily outclassed by SG (Bearing Version 2) Shaft setups.


  • With an excellent Attack Ring and a Weight Disk to match, Dragoon GT might be a good buy were it not so expensive. In addition, while the EG and CEW are interesting, they fail to be truly competitive. As such, given the exorbitant asking price, this Beyblade is for collection purposes only. In addition, Trygle 2 G is a slightly better purchase if found around the same price.
